ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Friday marked the first day of disruptions to air travel because of flight cuts to airports across the country.

The Trump administration announced this week it would be cutting 10% of flights at 40 airports.

Kelsey Schafer, her husband and their four kids were supposed to be on a flight to Orlando Friday morning.

“It got canceled. We were panicked a little bit. We thought driving 16 hours to Florida doesn’t sound fun,” Schafer said.

Schafer was able to call Frontier to get her family on another flight.

“I was just praying there would be enough spots. Luckily there was. Six people is a lot to get rebooked,” Schafer said.

Schafer and her family were rescheduled for a Friday afternoon flight.
