ST. PETERS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A St. Charles County couple has made feeding their neighbors a weekly commitment, helping to stock two self-serve food pantries as demand continues to grow.
Michelle and Rafael Robertson began their effort three weeks ago after Michelle saw Facebook posts from people who needed food. She put out a call asking who wanted to help, and donations came pouring in.
“I’ve reached out to my network before and they’ve had a good response. So I figured out if I reached out maybe they could do more,” Michelle Robertson said.
The couple now buys food and personal care items twice a week to stock mini neighborhood food pantries. What started as one run per week has grown to two because of increased demand.
