PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Victor Cruz, a Hillsboro man whose family says was mistakenly detained by federal agents in October , was released from the ICE detention facility in Tacoma on Friday.
Cruz, a longtime Hillsboro resident and business owner, was detained by agents on Oct. 14.
His daughter, Atziri Cruz, says agents were targeting a different Victor Cruz with a criminal record but arrested her father instead.
Cruz was released from the Tacoma facility on bond Friday afternoon after an order by a federal district court judge, according to U.S. Representative Suzanne Bonamici
Bonamici released a statement on Friday evening addressing Cruz’s release.
