SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - This winter like all upper Midwest winters is likely to be cold.

To help South Bend’s homeless population deal with frigid conditions, the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity host a unique donation drive to collect winter clothes and toiletries for homeless programs in Michiana.

It’s called ‘Sleep-Out for the Homeless’.

16 News Now was on E. Jefferson Boulevard for the ninth annual ‘Sleep-Out for the Homeless’. This event is hosted by the South Bend chapter of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity to collect donations for the regions less fortunate.

Fraternity brothers began setting up tents at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Over 50 volunteers will live outside in these tents until Sunday at 3 p.m.
