DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - A family in De Pere is getting into the holiday spirit early with a food giveaway this Sunday.

The Vandehei family shared a post on social media announcing their plans to serve homemade meals to community members in need.

The post received positive feedback, with some people donating money and food to the cause.

The family says they’ve already started prepping for the giveaway with expectations to feed more than 100 visitors.

“It’s just a good time to spread kindness and goodness in the world. I think it’s hard sometimes for people to know what power or opportunities that may be out there, and for us, this is kind of just a passion thing,” says Kelly Vandehei.

Those free meals will be served from 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday for pickup or delivery.
