A man who smashed a bottle of vodka over his friend's head after he refused to help him falsify a drug test has been jailed for more than two years. Shaun Packer, of Victoria Street, Sheerness, had invited a friend to his house on March 4 this year where he and others were drinking.
The 61-year-old told the friend that he was on licence, which required him to complete regular drug tests. Believing he would fail it, Packer asked his guest to provide a urine sample for him to use.
When this request was refused, a fight ensued between the two. Packer picked up a bottle of vodka and smashed it over the head of the victim, before attempting to stab the man with the broken bottle neck, Kent Police said. The injured man fled to a neighbour's house, where he was treated by an ambulance crew.
