Nassau County police detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Woodward Parkway in Farmingdale around 11:40 a.m. Friday, a department spokesman told Newsday.
The spokesman could not immediately provide additional details, including the number of cars and people involved, as well as any injuries.
Around 4:40 p.m., multiple officers and detectives were spotted near a pair of Nassau Police Crime Scene Search Unit vehicles parked near Evans Avenue across from the Woodward Parkway School, an elementary school within the Farmingdale School District.
Police were stationed near a pair of smashed vehicles on the northbound side of Woodward Parkway. At least one other vehicle also appeared damaged and had crossed over the sidewalk onto the grass of the school property.
