A warning has been issued for UK households who shop at Amazon, eBay or The Range. Shoppers have been warned over radiator fans which could pose an immediate fire hazard to UK households.

The rechargeable units can burst into flames without warning while charging, during normal operation, or even when switched off in standby mode. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has circulated a product recall.

The OPSS says the Valiant-branded devices contain defective lithium-ion polymer batteries. Three production batches –967, 968, and 970 – are affected by the recall. The faulty fans carry part code FIR046 and barcode 5061026620844.
