Rye Twp. supervisors appointed Charles Kunkle to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Brad Sloop during a special meeting on Oct. 23. The term Kunkle was appointed to fill runs through 2027.
Kunkle, who previously served on the board, was one of three applicants for the position and Chairman Jim Sabo attributed his prior experience as a major factor in the selection.
The other two applicants were Andrew Lehman and Eric Olsen.
During the Oct. 28 regular meeting, Kunkle said he grew up and still lives in the “western end of the valley” and his father had owned 50 acres.
