Two people have been arrested and charged for possession of an illegal firearm after a police vehicle stop in Brampton, said Peel police.
Officers investigated two occupants of a black pickup truck at Bramalea City Centre Mall’s parking lot for a liquor license act offense on Thursday, said a news release from Peel Regional Police.
During that search, police discovered a loaded illegal handgun.
A 20-year-old man from Brampton is facing seven charges, including knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol.
The man was out on bail with conditions to possess any weapons, said police.
An 18-year-old woman from Brampton is facing 5 charges, including possession of a loaded firearm,
