On Sunday at 4:48 p.m. the National Weather Service released a freeze watch valid for Tuesday between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. for Southern Westchester, Richmond (Staten Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Northern Nassau and Southern Nassau as well as New York (Manhattan) and Bronx counties.

The weather service adds, "Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees possible."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," adds the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
