Warren Buffett , who has for decades inspired investors around the globe, announced on Monday that he would no longer write his annual report or speak at the company’s annual meeting.

“I will no longer be writing Berkshire’s annual report or talking endlessly at the annual meeting,” Buffett wrote in a letter to shareholders Monday. “As the British would say, I’m ‘going quiet.’

“Sort of.”

Buffett, 95, announced at Berkshire Hathaway Inc. ‘s annual meeting in May that he was recommending vice chair Greg Abel as his successor and two days later the board approved the move. Abel, a Canadian, takes the Berkshire helm as chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2026.
