EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Animal Care and Control is now back open Monday after police say someone broke in and stole a dog and some dog food over the weekend.
The director says Evansville Police arrived within two minutes of the building’s security system alerting a window was smashed.
She says the suspect smashed the front door and cut the lock on the dog’s kennel.
We’re told officials believe the suspect planned the break-in.
Officials are hoping to get the dog back safely and find out who did this so they can press charges.
Officials say the break-in is currently under investigation.
Our Bryce West is talking to officials today on where the investigation stands.
