At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, the Kingston Police Department announced it was “currently on scene at a train vs. pedestrian incident.”
For approximately two hours, police could be seen occupying railroad crossings around the city as a CSX train stood motionless. Officers and train personnel investigated as traffic snarled in several areas, with motorists seeking alternate routes to their destination.
In a statement, police said they were “working to clear the area as quickly and safely as possible”. At approximately 3:30 p.m., police announced all railroad crossings had been re-opened.
Further information has yet to be released by officials.
