ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - The Rock Island Fire Department rescued two residents from a house fire Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

Monday, around 12:47 p.m., crews said they responded to a call for a house fire at 3810 15th Avenue.

When crews arrived, they said they saw light smoke coming from the first floor of a one-and-a-half story residential home.

A resident standing outside told crews that there were two people still inside, sleeping on the second floor.

Firefighters said they immediately entered the home and found the two people, and were able to safely get them out of the home.

A small fire was then found and quickly put out in the basement, crews said. No injuries to civilians, pets, or personnel were reported.
