BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Firefighters in Birmingham had a house fire under control near Legion Field Monday.

The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service said fire units were dispatched to the 700 block of 8th Terrace West just before 7 p.m.

That's a few blocks north of Legion Field in the College Hills community.

The fire department said smoke and flames were seen from the roof of the house when fire crews arrived.

The fire was brought under control at 7:30 p.m.

We're told the house was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service reported a temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit during the operation.
