ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - New Horizons Health Care closed its Valley View location August 2024.
The building has been vacant ever since.
But MAR Roanoke wants to change that.
They want to rezone the property to allow for a residential substance use and disorder treatment center.
“A client would either be referred to us from a family member, from themselves, from a hospital, someone that needs an inpatient treatment, meaning they’re currently abusing a substance and they need a medical detox, combined with the therapy that goes along with the counseling,” Ben Crew with Blazer and Associates said.
The proposed facility would have 80 beds and would provide temporary occupancy for patients who will also receive around the clock care.
