A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 1:32 a.m. in effect until Wednesday at 1 p.m. for Jefferson and Lewis counties.
The weather service adds to anticipate, "Additional snow accumulations 6 to 9 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Greatest snowfall expected across the Tug Hill Plateau, with 3 to 5 inches expected across the Watertown Metro area."
"Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute. The Wednesday morning commute across the Watertown Metro area will also be impacted," states the weather service. "Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities."
