ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Public Schools has shared new details about its plan to reopen several buildings damaged by the May tornado, offering the community its first look at specific completion dates and cost estimates.
For more than six months, families and staff have been waiting to learn when students can return to the affected schools.
The district’s latest update outlines progress on repair work and the funding process through FEMA and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
According to the district, some schools have been processed by FEMA. They include Yeatman Middle School, Washington Montessori, Sumner High School, Hickey Elementary School, and Ashland Elementary School. Two sites, Soldan High School and Beaumont High School, are still awaiting FEMA approval.
