Developing: Fire at northern Minnesota scrap metal facility, explosions heard

Crews are battling a large fire Tuesday at a salvage yard in northern Minnesota.

Northland Fire Wire reports that several explosions have been heard coming from the fire, which is burning along Holmes Recycling in Iron.

According to the news service, the fire was reported around 10:45 a.m. and authorities have closed southbound County Highway 7 as multiple fire departments respond to the scene.

Holmes Recycling offers demolition and scrap metal recycling services, including junk vehicle pick-up and drop-offs, according to its website.
