SHREVEPORT, La. - A new wave of security improvements is coming to Shreveport’s west side.
During Monday’s City Council meeting, leaders announced the Committee of 100 funded a camera project targeting the Monkhouse Drive corridor, a high-traffic gateway near Shreveport Regional Airport.
“Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the airport in front of the sign, there's gonna be a dedication, a check from the Committee of 100 for cameras on Monkhouse Drive corridor … at the airport sign. We're expecting about 60 people,” said Shreveport Regional Airport Director Larry Blackwell.
Council members noted the cameras will monitor traffic and deter crime along Monkhouse Drive, an area tied to airport commerce and nearby neighborhoods. The system is part of a broader push by business and civic groups to enhance
