LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) - Perceived money owed to a suspect was the motivation for a home burglary in Ledyard, according to police.

They said they arrested 21-year-old Jacob Gincastro of Pawcatuck.

The burglary happened on Tuesday around 10:40 p.m.

Ledyard police said they received a 911 call from a woman who reported that a man broke into her home and was still inside.

Officers responded and found the suspect in an attached garage.

They said that he got in through an unlocked window, took cash from a bedroom, and broke items around the home.

“It was also learned that the accused and the homeowner knew each other and the incident centered around perceived money owed to the accused,” Ledyard police said in their report.

Gincastro was identified as the suspect.
