HONOLULU (Island News) – A missing man from Kapolei, who was later discovered in Waipi'o with fatal gunshot wounds, is at the center of a murder investigation that has led to an arrest.

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) reported on Wednesday at approximately 8 a.m., the CID Strategic Enforcement Detail, with the help of District 3 Crime Reduction Unit, located the suspect in Waipahu and arrested him for the murder of 55-year-old Jonnaven Monalim.

This comes after HPD confirmed on Tuesday, November 11, that detectives were able to obtain a Warrant of Arrest for the suspect. It was then approved by a judge and the suspect’s bail was set at $1,000,000.

Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
