ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The years-long Juniper Street project in Atlanta is almost complete and it aims to make the busy stretch of Midtown safer for cyclists, drivers and pedestrians.
Crews broke ground on the 12-block area of Midtown in mid-2023, but the plans and community surveys had been going on years before that. A majority of the people polled called for more walkability, accessibility and safety.
Now, the $8 million facelift on the busy, one mile stretch is almost complete.
“The City of Atlanta is changing rapidly, and as we welcome and invite tourists and new residents to the corridor, we’re making sure the physical environment supports that and it feels different,” said Atlanta Department of Transportation Commissioner Solomon Caviness.
