WASHINGTON D.C., DC — As the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill to end the government shutdown Wednesday night, multiple representatives from Connecticut voted against it, largely citing health care concerns.

The House voted 222 to 209 with a slight Republican majority, approving the funding deal and sending it to President Donald Trump for his signature.

The shutdown began on Oct. 1, resulting in 43 days without government funding as Democrats demanded that any deal address health care protections. Representatives from Connecticut said Wednesday that the compromise is not enough.

Among those who voted against the bill from Connecticut included Rep. John Larson (D-District 1), Rep. Joe Courtney (D-District 2), Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-District 3), Rep. Jim Himes (D-District 4)
