HONOLULU (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) released new details in an ongoing murder investigation that involved a missing Kapolei man.

In a press conference held on Thursday, Lieutenant Deena Thoemmes reported that on Thursday, Nov. 6, at approximately 10 a.m. officers responded to a suspicious circumstance call on Waihona St. in Pearl City.

Officers met with the sister of 55-year-old Jonnaven Monalim, and said that he didn’t come home the night before and that she wasn’t able to get in contact with him. She was able to locate Monalim’s last known address on Waihona St. where she claimed she found blood on the sidewalk, Monalim’s hearing aid, a nine millimeter casing, and an unspent nine millimeter cartridge.
