Judge to rule on Chapter 11 filing next month
The word “delay” has become synonymous with the Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley project.
Developments for the property, located at 7000 E. Lincoln Dr., have been nearly 20 years in the making, with construction beginning about seven years ago. But the project has been beset by numerous issues — most recently the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by Scottsdale-based developer Five Star Development earlier this month.
A judge will hold a final hearing Dec. 2 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Houston that could allow Five Star Development to reorganize.
There are 34 creditors and 30 debtors listed in the case.
Creditors include Scottsdale-based Armstrong Residential Services claiming $6.1 million, Gilbert-based XBuilt Roofing claiming $3.2 million and Ritz
