When Ray and Carl McKnight step into a broadcast booth on a Friday night, it’s not just a game they’re calling. It’s a living, real-time scrapbook of Coweta history.

The banter and the easy Southern rhythm between brothers have been shaped by 50 years of football and friendship.

“People have called us country boys on the radio,” Ray said. “But we are what we are.”

And what they are, to generations of listeners, are the familiar voices that have carried East Coweta and Newnan football through the static of AM signals, FM and now through online streaming.

From the chains to the cloud

The McKnight story began on the sideline in 1974, when Ray, still in his early 20s, started moving chains for East Coweta games alongside Larry Robertson and Bill Todd.
