The man accused of killing a Newnan resident and his dog during a violent spree in 2023 has been sentenced to life in prison following a negotiated plea in Coweta County Superior Court.
Frederick Lee Tucker, 52, pleaded guilty Thursday to malice murder, three counts of home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated cruelty to animals and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to court records.
Judge Travis Sakrison sentenced Tucker to life in prison on the malice murder charge.
Additional convictions were either merged into the murder count or ordered to run concurrently, including a second life sentence for home invasion and a combined 35 years to serve for aggravated assault, aggravated cruelty to animals and firearm possession.
