OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) -Marion County leaders are asking families to take a break from their screens!
The Marion County Children’s Alliance hope tomorrow’s “Put Down the Phone Day” will make a difference, not only for children, but parents and families alike.
It seems as though phones are everywhere, in classrooms, on play dates, and even around the dinner table. And for many Marion County kids, community leaders say their ability to make personal connections, is taking a toll.
“We know that excessive screen time can cause obesity, anxiety, lack of sleep. But I don’t think that’s just for our kids, I think we as adults are very responsible too. We need to set the example, we need to put our phones down for our children and grandchildren,” shared Children’s Alliance Executive Director, Beth
