PALATKA, Fla. (WCJB) - A woman from Putnam County convicted of stabbing and killing her boyfriend will spend decades in prison.

Tykidra Leonard was sentenced to 50 years in prison. She was arrested in 2022 after Palatka police officers found her kneeling over her boyfriend at a home on South 14th Street.

Leonard first told investigators she thought her boyfriend was an intruder, but later changed her story.

Detectives say there was an argument before the stabbing, and Leonard was later charged with second-degree murder.
