VIVIAN, La. -- A Vivian police officer has been shot and dozens of law enforcement officers from multiple agencies have responded Friday night to a report of a suspect possibly barricaded inside a house, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.

Caddo Parish sheriff's Lt. Breck Scott said SWAT members are on the scene, which accounts for the 50 sheriff's deputies who have responded.

State troopers also have arrived.

An officer needs assistance call came in just before 5:30 p.m. on north Pine Street, according to the Caddo 911 emergency call site.
