PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) -A reminder to slow down and move over after a firefighter in Pulaski County was nearly hit on I-44 last week.
The Waynesville Rural Fire Protection District shared a picture on Facebook of a hand holding a chunk of metal.
The protection district said the metal piece was kicked up by a semi that didn’t slow down or move over, turning it into a projectile. Fire crews were working a call on the highway.
“I actually kept it as a souvenir. This came flying past my face, and it’s heavy, sharp, and it hit the pump panel right past me,” said Teresa Torsiello-Miller with Waynesville Rural Fire. “It was kind of eye-opening for me, how close we really come to danger every day.”
