LAKEWOOD, Ohio — No. 1 seed St. Edward cruised to a 38-6 victory over Toledo Whitmer in a Division I, Region 1 semifinal on Friday, powered by a dominant first-half performance that put the game out of reach early.

The Eagles wasted no time establishing control, opening with a six-play, 56-yard drive that ended with a Brandon White touchdown run. St. Edward scored on all five of its first-half possessions to build a commanding 31-6 halftime lead.

White carried the offense in the first half, rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries before his night ended at intermission.
