An 85-year-old British woman has been confirmed dead in Portugal after a tornado swept through a camping park in Albufeira.
Originally, it was reported that 21 people were injured, with three of them in serious condition , and one person missing following an ‘extreme wind phenomenon’ earlier on Saturday.
Now the missing person has been confirmed as an 85-year-old British woman, according to a local news outlet .
The injured were registered at Eden Resort and Camping Park in Albufeira and there are already more than 60 operatives on site, supported by 24 vehicles.
The ‘extreme wind phenomenon’ hit some time after 10am and the peak of the damage appears to have hit Hotel Eden and the nearby Holacamp campsite.
