CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - Dozens of family members, victims and first responders gathered at Virginia State Police headquarters Sunday for the annual World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Tammy McGee organized the event each year after her 16-year-old son Conner Guido was hit and killed by an underage, unlicensed driver in 2019.

“He was the kid that would light up every room he went in, he was the one that would make you laugh out loud in church,” McGee said.

For McGee, Sunday was about more than remembering.

“Since that day I made my mission to ensure other families never had to experience that kind of grief,” McGee said.
