SCRANTON, Pa. — On Sunday, the ninth Electric City reptile expo returned to the Hilton Conference Center in Lackawanna County .
Thousands of critters were on display, from snakes to turtles, frogs, and more.
The owner and operator of NEPA Reptile Expos, Matthew Helring, said, "Interest in reptiles has just been on the rise lately because people are starting to see them as something more than just scary or slithery or slimy. They're starting to see them as the amazing animals that they are."
Organizers say reptile experts and people just getting started in housing these critters are all welcome each year.
