On Monday at 1:13 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 4 p.m. until Tuesday 10 a.m. for Wayne and Cayuga counties.
The weather service says to expect, "Total snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce some limited blowing snow in open areas."
"Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions with reduced visibility at times. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes," adds the weather service. "Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities."
