At 1:44 a.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in effect until Tuesday at 10 a.m. for Cayuga, Onondaga, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland and Chenango counties.
The weather service adds to anticipate, "Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches, with the highest amounts over the higher terrain."
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions can impact the commute this morning and this evening as well as Tuesday morning's commute," explains the weather service.
