Police made a surprise discovery when they spotted a car near Tesco in Bedworth . Officers from the A unit of Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) saw the grey Toyota had a brake light out.

They gave the driver some words of advice when a 'smell of cannabis began emanating from the vehicle. They carried out a roadside drug test, which the driver failed so he was arrested.

"On being searched in custody a small plastic sealable bag with a white powder in it was found on their person, as such they were further arrested for possession of suspected class A," the team said. The driver, who was not identified, is now due to face court action.
