Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a cold, blustery, winter-like Monday, with temperatures and wind chills reminding residents that the season is quickly changing.

At the bus stop on South Orange Avenue and Dover Street in Newark’s South Ward, it’s currently 36 degrees, but the wind is making it feel more like 25 degrees.
Gusty conditions are sweeping across the region, creating a sharp chill despite dry weather and partly sunny skies.
Winds have already been clocked near 38 mph, and forecasters say the blustery conditions will continue throughout the day, keeping temperatures feeling colder than the actual air readings.
