ALAPPUZHA: A congress activist attempted suicide for denying a seat for the upcoming local body polls. The incident happened at Pathiyoor in Alappuzha. C Jayapradeep, booth president of 19th ward, Niranam, tried to end his life. Timely intervention of his family saved his life. He had started campaigning by sticking posters and installing flex boards. The UDF had earlier decided to field him in the ward.
