DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- The City of Durham will host a ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow to launch the city's first Fast Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station located downtown.
The city partnered with Kempower , Duke Energy, and Cary-based EV Revolution, to push toward sustainability and clean transportation.
This new charging station will be the first public EV Fast Charger in the Downtown Loop. The project will support the city's goal of expanding resident EV use in order to reduce carbon footprints and save residents money.
The Kempower DC fast-chargers are manufactured in Durham and this site will feature two plugs for electric vehicles.
