CHERRY HILL, New Jersey (WPVI) -- When the manager at Capital Grille Cherry Hill walked up to a table one night, he had no idea just how much he would inspire this guest.

Maureen Connor was there, and sharing both their experiences with cancer would be just what she needed to keep going.

James Schrank, Manager at Capital Grille Cherry Hill, approached Connor and told her she would win her fight with breast cancer.

"I told her that I was going to take care of the check as long as she promised that she would keep fighting, and that when she was done in treatment, she would come back and we would have a celebratory dinner together," said Schrank.

Connor was inspired by his encouragement, and ever since they have become great friends.
