ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) announced Tuesday that Collins Correctional Facility will be consolidated, and Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Franklin County will be closing.
DOCCS says one side of Collins will be consolidated to more efficiently manage the facility. The transition is expected to be completed before the end of the fiscal year.
Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Franklin County is expected to close on March 11, 2026. DOCCS says the decision came after it did a review of the current staffing levels, available beds, programs, and physical infrastructure.
