LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville’s police chief wants to see a crackdown on ATVs and dirt bikes in southwest Jefferson County, like how the department handled street racing.

Authorities have reported an increased presence of non-street legal vehicles in the area.

Metro Councilwoman Crystal Bast (District 14) has proposed new legislation that would make it easier for LMPD to enforce laws, allowing them to use drones and conduct blitz operations to keep those vehicles off the streets.

During a live interview with WHAS11, Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) Chief Paul Humphrey expressed support for the ordinance, saying it would also allow officers to crush and confiscate ATVs and dirt bikes.
