WASHOUGAL, Wash. — Former Washougal Mayor Molly Coston, a longtime public servant who helped shape the city's development over nearly two decades, has died. She was 77.
The city announced Coston's death Tuesday. No cause was given.
Coston first joined the Washougal City Council in 2005, serving for six years. She was elected mayor in November 2017 and served from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, she was elected to fill an unexpired term for Council Position 5, with her current term set to conclude in December 2027.
Mayor David Stuebe said Coston's death was a significant loss for the community.
