TRINITY — East Rowan freshman post player Bristol Smith debuted with 23 points as the Mustang girls won 54-42 at Trinity on Tuesday to open their basketball season.
Smith has some nice height. She’s already made an impact on East volleyball.
Junior Maicy Miller, another newcomer to the varsity, scored 11 for the Mustangs.
Sophomore Mariah Lawing is another player moving up from the jayvees. She scored seven.
The Mustangs built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and led 29-19 at the half.
Madison Hill scored 14 for Trinity.
It’s a three-game week for the Mustangs, with road games at North Stanly (Wednesday) and Wheatmore (Friday).
