KANNAPOLIS — South Rowan made 18 free throws, played good defense and won 42-29 at A.L. Brown on Tuesday in non-conference girls basketball.
South led by 10 after the first quarter and was up 27-14 at halftime.
South is off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2016-17 season. The Raiders beat Gray Stone on opening night.
Ella Morgan and Meghan Eagle made 3-pointers in the third quarter for South.
Dabrianna “Day” Pharr made seven free throws and scored 13 points to lead the Raiders.
Danica Krieg missed the Gray Stone game, but made a comeback from a concussion and scored 10 points.
Eagle contributed nine points.
