Seats at the Wildfire Study Group, the brainchild of Sen. Pat Woods, R-Broadview, were coveted.
"Every committee I went to ... some other agency wanted to be on it," Woods said at a Monday meeting of the interim Water and Natural Resources Committee.
Woods initially feared too many cooks in the kitchen. But his fears weren't realized.
"What we came out with was pretty amazing to me," Woods said of the study group, which worked with a diverse stakeholder group including state agencies, wildfire data experts, utilities, insurance agencies and lawyers.
